💧 Importance of the CVT Drain Plug

During water crossings or in consistently humid environments, water can accumulate at the bottom of the CVT housing. If not drained, this water can cause CVT belt slippage, reduced transmission efficiency, and even rust and damage to internal metal components. Regularly inspecting and opening the CVT cover drain plug allows accumulated water to be expelled, protecting the CVT system. If the drain plug itself is damaged or lost, it must be replaced immediately with an OEM part to prevent water ingress and maintain housing sealing.
