VESPA PX/PE 50-200 Ignition Coil with CDI
🔧 Ignition Coil · CDI Unit · Electronic Ignition System
For VESPA PX/PE 50-200 · 4-pin rectangular connector · Classic model specific
This is an external ignition coil combination (also known as H.T. coil or CDI box) for VESPA PX/PE 50-200. It features an integrated CDI and ignition coil design with a 4-pin rectangular connector, perfectly suited for VESPA PX series with electronic ignition and late model Rally 200 models.
The ignition coil converts the vehicle's 12V low voltage into thousands of volts of high voltage, which is delivered to the spark plug to ignite the air-fuel mixture. The CDI (Capacitor Discharge Ignition) controls the ignition timing. This product integrates both functions into one unit for easy installation and reliable performance.

The ignition coil is a critical component of the engine's ignition system, directly affecting engine performance:
- High Voltage Generation: Converts 12V low voltage to 15,000-30,000V high voltage to create a strong spark at the spark plug.
- Ignition Timing: Works with the CDI unit to ignite the air-fuel mixture at the correct moment.
- Combustion Efficiency: Spark intensity directly affects combustion quality, power output, and fuel economy.
- Starting Performance: A faulty ignition coil can cause hard starting or no-start conditions.
💡 Advantage of Integrated CDI/Coil Design: The integrated design simplifies installation, reduces wiring connections, and improves reliability – an ideal replacement for classic VESPA models.
- Hard Starting: Engine is difficult to start or requires multiple attempts.
- Rough Idle: Engine vibrates at idle, unstable RPM.
- Poor Acceleration: Feels underpowered, sluggish response.
- Misfiring: Sudden hesitation during riding, feels like fuel or spark cut-out.
- Increased Fuel Consumption: Poor ignition leads to incomplete combustion and higher fuel usage.
- No Spark: No high voltage spark at the spark plug.
If you experience these issues, inspect the ignition system components and replace the ignition coil/CDI unit if necessary.
- OEM Specifications: Manufactured to VESPA original specifications for perfect electrical matching.
- Integrated Design: CDI and ignition coil in one unit for simplified installation.
- 4-Pin Rectangular Connector: Standard interface for perfect harness compatibility.
- Quality Materials: High-grade insulating materials and precision electronic components for heat and age resistance.
- Direct Replacement: Perfect substitute for damaged or worn original ignition coil/CDI units.
🔧 Installation Tip
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal before installation to prevent shorts.
2. Locate the original ignition coil/CDI unit and disconnect the 4-pin connector.
3. Remove the mounting bolts and take out the old unit.
4. Install the new ignition coil/CDI unit, secure with mounting bolts, and connect the 4-pin connector.
5. Ensure the connector is fully seated for good contact.
6. Reconnect the battery and test starting and idle operation.
