🔧 Yamaha 100 Camshaft
📦 Part Number: MIYP100-5016
⚙️ High-Performance Camshaft · 4-Stroke Scooter · Improved Torque
📍 Installation Position: Cylinder Head · Camshaft Bearing
✅ Higher Torque · Better Acceleration · Easy Fit · Direct Replacement
This product is a Yamaha 100 Camshaft, part number MIYP100-5016. It is a high-performance replacement camshaft designed for 4-stroke scooter engines — one of the cheapest ways to get real performance tuning.
The camshaft is the heart of the valve train, controlling valve opening timing, duration, and lift — directly determining engine intake efficiency and power delivery characteristics. Working closely together with various 4-stroke scooter manufacturers, we have managed to increase engine performance and running smoothness. The result does not affect everyday drivability while still offering smooth running and durability. The camshaft can, of course, be used with original (restricted) engines. Its strongest point is that it provides higher torque which translates into better acceleration. Fitting is much easier and quicker than replacing the complete cylinder.
✅ Quality Assurance: Manufactured from high-quality alloy steel. Cam lobe profile, base circle diameter, and mounting dimensions match OEM parts for a perfect fit and reliable operation.
This Camshaft (MIYP100-5016) is compatible with the following models and engines:
- Yamaha JOG100 · 4-Stroke
- Yamaha RS100 · 4-Stroke
- GY6 100cc / 125cc 4-Stroke Engines
- Linhai LY149QMG Engine
- Other scooters with GY6-style engines
📌 Fitment Note: This camshaft is designed for GY6 series 4-stroke engines. Cam lobe lift and angle may vary across different model years or displacements. We recommend confirming your original camshaft specifications before purchase. If your specific model is not listed, please contact us with your engine model for compatibility verification.
🏁 Higher Torque · Better Acceleration
This optimized camshaft delivers higher torque output, translating directly into stronger acceleration. Whether it's city commuting starts or hill climbing, you'll feel the noticeable power improvement.
🔧 Easy Installation · Great Value
Compared to replacing the complete cylinder, installing a camshaft is much easier and quicker — making it one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades available. Of course, this camshaft can also be used with original (restricted) engines without affecting everyday drivability.
- ⚡ Higher Torque Output: Optimized cam lobe profile extends valve duration and increases lift — improving intake efficiency and mid-range torque.
- 🔄 Smooth & Durable: Enhances performance while maintaining smooth operation and durability — does not affect everyday drivability.
- 🛡️ Compatible with Stock Engines: Can be used with original (restricted) engines — one of the most cost-effective performance upgrades available.
- 🔧 Precision Manufactured: Cam lobes are precision-ground and hardened for excellent wear resistance and long service life.
- 🔄 Direct Replacement: Mounting dimensions match OEM — installs without any modifications.
• Noticeable power loss — poor acceleration.
• Valve noise persists even after adjustment (worn cam lobes).
• Visual inspection reveals wear, pitting, or flaking on cam lobes.
• Worn camshaft bearings — increased operating noise.
• During engine overhaul, camshaft inspection and replacement is recommended.
Replacing a worn camshaft promptly restores engine power and enhances the riding experience.
1. Remove the cylinder head cover and mark the timing chain position relative to the camshaft sprocket.
2. Remove the old camshaft and inspect the camshaft bearings and bearing bores for wear.
3. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the journals and bearings before installation.
4. Ensure timing marks are aligned (crankshaft TDC mark aligned with camshaft mark).
5. Tighten camshaft bearing cap bolts to OEM torque specifications.
6. After installation, rotate the crankshaft several times to verify timing marks remain aligned.
Camshaft installation is a technically demanding job — professional installation by a qualified technician is strongly recommended. Incorrect timing installation may cause valve-to-piston contact and severe engine damage.
