Yamaha 100cc CVT Rear Clutch Pulley (Without Cover)
Complete Rear Clutch Assembly · Includes Clutch & Bell
🔧 Rear Clutch Assembly · Driven Pulley · CVT System
Excellent replacement for original rear pulley · Includes fixed half, movable half, clutch assembly, and clutch bell
This is a CVT rear clutch pulley assembly (without cover) for Yamaha 100cc scooters, an excellent replacement for the original rear pulley. The kit comes complete with all components: fixed half, movable half, clutch assembly (shoes), and clutch bell, manufactured to standard quality for reliable durability.
The rear clutch is a critical component of the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) system, working together with the front variator to achieve smooth acceleration and power delivery. When starting, the clutch shoes engage with the bell under centrifugal force to transfer power to the rear wheel; as speed changes, the rear pulley halves adjust their spacing through spring tension and belt forces to vary the transmission ratio automatically.
✨ Kit Includes: Fixed half · Movable half · Clutch shoe assembly · Clutch bell · Large spring
| Overall Height | Max Outside Diameter | Shaft Diameter | Number of Teeth |
|---|---|---|---|
| 74mm | φ122mm | φ12 / φ17 | 16T |
This rear clutch assembly primarily fits:
- Yamaha 100cc Scooters
- Yamaha Jog 100
- Yamaha Cygnus 100 / Breeze 100
- Other 100cc scooters using the same rear clutch specifications
Compatible Specifications:
- Overall Height: 74mm
- Max Outside Diameter: 122mm
- Shaft Diameter: 12mm (small) / 17mm (large)
- Tooth Count: 16T (for drive shaft engagement)
📌 Compatibility Note: This is a Yamaha 100cc CVT rear clutch assembly without cover. Before purchasing, please verify that your original rear clutch matches these specifications: overall height 74mm, outer diameter 122mm, shaft diameter 12/17mm, and 16 teeth.
🔄 Starting Phase
At idle, clutch shoes are held by springs and do not contact the bell. When throttle is applied, RPM increases, centrifugal force throws shoes outward to engage with the bell, transferring power to the rear wheel.
⚡ Acceleration Phase
As speed increases, the rear pulley adjusts its spacing through CVT action to vary the gear ratio. The clutch remains engaged, continuously transmitting power.
🔽 Deceleration/Coasting
When throttle is released, engine RPM drops, centrifugal force decreases, and springs retract the shoes, disengaging the clutch and allowing the wheel to spin faster than the engine (coasting).
🔧 Large Spring Function
The internal large spring (torque spring) provides clamping force between the pulley halves, affecting shifting characteristics and belt tension.
- Complete Kit: Includes fixed half, movable half, clutch shoe assembly, clutch bell – ready to install.
- Standard Quality: Manufactured with standard materials and processes for reliable performance and durability.
- Direct Replacement: Designed to original dimensions for direct bolt-on replacement.
- Smooth Engagement: Clutch shoes and bell provide smooth, chatter-free starts.
- Reliable Transmission: Smooth pulley operation ensures precise CVT shifting and efficient power transfer.
- Great Value: Offers comparable performance to OEM at a more affordable price.
- Jerky Starts: Noticeable vibration or shuddering when starting from a stop.
- Clutch Slippage: Engine RPM increases during acceleration but vehicle speed doesn't match (clutch not gripping properly).
- Abnormal Noise: Rattling, squealing, or grinding sounds during start or acceleration.
- Poor Acceleration: Sluggish power delivery, lack of response.
- Worn Shoes: Upon inspection, clutch shoes show uneven or excessive wear.
- Glazed Bell: Clutch bell inner surface shows blue discoloration, glazing, or wear marks.
If you experience these symptoms, inspect the rear clutch assembly and replace the complete unit if necessary.
🔧 Installation Tip
1. Replacing the rear clutch requires removing the CVT cover. Professional installation or mechanical experience is recommended.
2. Clean the transmission housing before installation and inspect gearbox oil seals.
3. When installing the rear clutch assembly, ensure the large spring is properly seated and the movable half slides smoothly.
4. When installing the clutch bell, tighten the nut to specified torque.
5. Install the CVT belt, ensuring proper routing between front variator and rear clutch.
6. Test ride after installation to check for smooth starts, normal acceleration, and any unusual noise.
