C100 CDI Ignition Module - 5-Pin Square Connector
⚡ CDI Module · Capacitor Discharge Ignition · Ignition Controller · Electronic Igniter
For 50cc-150cc Gas Scooters, ATVs, Dirt Bikes & Go Karts · Fits 139FMB, 147FMD, 147FMF, 150FMG engines
This is a Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) Module (also known as ignitor), a core control component of the engine's electronic ignition system. It is suitable for 50cc, 70cc, 90cc, 110cc, and 150cc gas scooters, ATVs, dirt bikes, and go karts, fitting GY6/QMB139 series and Chinese-made Honda-style engines, including 139FMB, 147FMD, 147FMF, 150FMG, and similar models.
The CDI module receives pulse signals from the magneto trigger coil, controls capacitor charging and discharging, and releases a high-voltage pulse to the ignition coil primary at precisely the right moment to generate a spark. Manufactured with high-quality electronic components, it offers precise timing, fast response, and stable performance. Features a 5-pin square connector compatible with most GY6 and Honda-style engines. This module is the ideal replacement when the original CDI fails, causing no spark, intermittent spark, or incorrect ignition timing.
✨ Key Functions: Receives trigger signals · Controls capacitor charging/discharging · Precise ignition timing · Generates high-voltage pulse · Drives ignition coil
The Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) system generates a spark through the following steps:
1️⃣ Charging
The magneto charging coil generates AC, which is rectified internally to charge the capacitor.
2️⃣ Triggering
The magneto trigger coil generates a trigger signal, activating the internal thyristor (SCR).
3️⃣ Discharging
The capacitor discharges instantly, creating a high-voltage pulse in the ignition coil primary.
4️⃣ Ignition
The ignition coil secondary steps up voltage to tens of thousands of volts, firing the spark plug.
💡 Note: CDI ignition systems operate without a battery, offering high reliability and fast response, making them the standard ignition method for modern small engines.

⚠️ CDI Failure Symptoms: No spark, hard starting, rough idle, hesitation during acceleration, high-speed misfire, engine stalling, abnormal engine noise (incorrect timing). If these occur, inspect and replace the CDI module.
- No Spark: No spark when testing high-tension lead to ground; engine will not start.
- Hard Starting: Weak or intermittent spark; engine difficult to start.
- Rough Idle: Unstable ignition energy causes idle fluctuation, hunting, or stalling.
- Hesitation During Acceleration: Ignition cut-out during hard acceleration; vehicle surges.
- High-Speed Misfire: Ignition fails at high RPM; engine cannot reach top speed.
- Engine Stalling: CDI heat-sensitive; engine stalls when hot, restarts when cool.
- Incorrect Timing: Advance too early causes detonation; too late causes power loss and overheating.
If you experience these symptoms, inspect the CDI module and related ignition components, and replace if necessary.
- OEM Specifications: Manufactured to original ignition curves and parameters for accurate timing.
- 5-Pin Square Connector: Standard interface for direct plug-and-play replacement.
- High-Quality Components: Premium capacitors, SCR, and other components for reliable performance.
- Wide Voltage Range: Adapts to magneto output variations for stable ignition.
- Universal Compatibility: Suitable for 50cc-150cc engines; high versatility.
- Direct Replacement: Directly replaces faulty original CDI module without modification.
🔧 Installation Tip
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal (if equipped) before replacing the CDI module.
2. Locate the original CDI module, typically mounted on the frame or near the engine.
3. Unplug the 5-pin square connector and inspect for corrosion or damage.
4. Plug in the new CDI module, ensuring the connector is fully seated.
5. Secure the CDI module with zip ties to prevent vibration damage.
6. Start the engine and verify proper ignition function with no misfires.
7. If starting issues persist, inspect the magneto trigger coil, charging coil, and ignition coil.
8. Note: Some models have anti-theft or kill switches; verify proper operation.
Connector Confirmation: Verify your original CDI has a 5-pin square connector before purchase. Some models may use 4-pin or 6-pin connectors; confirm compatibility before ordering.
Installation Notes: Ensure the connector is fully seated. If problems persist, inspect the magneto trigger coil, charging coil, and ignition coil. Images are for reference only. The actual product may vary.
