CG 5 Speed Gear Shift Fork
🔧 Shift Fork · Gear Shift Fork · CG125/CG150 Engine · 5 Speed Transmission Component
For CG125 · CG150 4-Stroke Air-Cooled Engines · 5 Speed Transmission
This is the CG 5 Speed Gear Shift Fork, a high-quality replacement for the transmission shift system in CG125 and CG150 4-stroke air-cooled engines. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this shift fork is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for transmission repairs or shift performance restoration.
The shift fork is a critical component of the transmission shifting mechanism. It rides in the guide grooves of the shift drum and moves as the drum rotates, pushing gears along the shaft to engage different gear ratios. This shift fork features a 5-speed configuration, manufactured from high-quality alloy steel with precision machining and heat treatment, offering excellent wear resistance and fatigue strength for smooth shifting and accurate gear engagement.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Hard shifting, sticking, or unable to engage gears
• Jumping out of gear while riding
• Unusual noise during shifting
• Shift lever does not return or returns poorly
• Metal particles in transmission oil
• Specific gears difficult to engage or prone to disengagement
🔍 Possible Causes
• Worn fork tips causing insufficient shift travel
• Bent or deformed shift fork
• Wear between fork and shift drum guide grooves
• Abnormal wear from poor lubrication
• Fork damage from improper shifting
• Fatigue damage from prolonged use
⚠️ Important Note: Worn or damaged shift forks can cause hard shifting, jumping out of gear, and other issues that seriously affect riding safety. If you experience the symptoms above, inspect and replace the shift forks and related components promptly.
This 5-speed shift fork fits vehicles equipped with CG125 and CG150 4-stroke air-cooled engines with 5-speed transmissions, including but not limited to:
💡 Compatibility Note: This shift fork is designed for 5-speed transmissions in CG125 and CG150 engines. Before installation, verify that your original transmission has 5 speeds to ensure compatibility. 4-speed and 5-speed shift forks are not interchangeable — verify carefully.
- 5-Speed Configuration: Designed for 5-speed transmissions, providing a wider gear ratio range.
- High-Quality Alloy Steel: Manufactured from premium alloy steel for high strength, excellent toughness, and superior wear resistance.

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Remove the engine from the frame.
2. Split the engine crankcase to access the transmission assembly.
3. Remove the shift pawl, detent mechanism, and shift drum.
4. Remove the old shift forks, noting the installation position and orientation of each fork.
5. Clean the transmission case and inspect fork guide slots and gear grooves for wear.
6. Install the new shift forks into the shift drum guide grooves, ensuring correct orientation.
7. Install the shift drum and detent mechanism, and verify proper engagement between forks and gears.
8. Manually rotate the shift drum to check smooth shifting through all gears.
9. Assemble the engine crankcase and tighten case bolts to specified torque.
10. Reinstall the engine, add fresh engine oil, and start the engine to test shifting function.
Important Note: Transmission disassembly and assembly involve precision components. Pay attention to the correct orientation of shift forks and their engagement with gears during installation. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model and transmission speed count (5 speeds) to ensure compatibility. 4-speed and 5-speed shift forks are not interchangeable — verify your original transmission speed count carefully.
Installation Note: Transmission disassembly and assembly involve critical engine components and require specialized tools and expertise. Pay attention to the correct orientation of shift forks and their engagement with gears during installation. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Recommended Parts: When replacing shift forks, it is recommended to inspect the shift drum, shift gears, and shift pawl for wear, and replace them if necessary to ensure overall shift system performance. Product images are for reference only; actual product may vary.
