🔧 Shift Drum · Gearshift Drum · Cycle Shift · CG125/CG150 Engine · Transmission Component
For CG125 · CG150 4-Stroke Engines · Cycle Shift Configuration · Standard Quality · Cost-Effective Replacement
This is the CG Gearshift Drum (Cycle Type), a high-quality, cost-effective replacement for the transmission shift system in CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this shift drum is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for transmission repairs or shift performance restoration.
The shift drum (also known as gearshift drum) is the core component of the transmission shifting mechanism. It features precision-machined guide grooves that control the movement of shift forks as the drum rotates, enabling precise gear selection. This shift drum features a cycle shift configuration (shift pattern: N-1-2-3-4-N or N-1-2-3-4-5-N), manufactured from high-quality alloy steel with precision machining and heat treatment, offering excellent wear resistance and reliability for smooth shifting and accurate positioning.
✨ Core Functions: Control shift fork movement · Enable cycle gear selection · Ensure accurate shift positioning · Provide clear shift feel
📌 Cycle Shift Pattern
Cycle shift follows the pattern: Neutral → 1st → 2nd → 3rd → 4th → Neutral (or 5th gear back to Neutral). Pressing the shift lever moves up through the gears, and pressing fully from the highest gear returns to Neutral. This design is more convenient for urban commuting.
📌 Difference from Reciprocal Shift
Reciprocal shift (international pattern) uses "1-N-2-3-4-5" with upshifts by lifting the lever and downshifts by pressing. Cycle shift uses only pressing action and allows shifting directly from top gear to Neutral. This simpler operation is ideal for city riding and beginners.
💡 Compatibility Note: This shift drum is designed for cycle shift configurations. Cycle shift and reciprocal shift drums are not interchangeable — verify your original shift pattern before selecting.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Hard shifting, sticking, or unable to engage gears
• Jumping out of gear while riding
• Vague shift feel, unclear gear positioning
• Cycle shift pattern malfunction
• Transmission noise
• Unable to shift into neutral or specific gears
🔍 Possible Causes
• Worn guide grooves causing inaccurate shift travel
• Deformed or worn shift drum
• Worn detent mechanism or failed springs
• Worn shift forks
• Fatigue damage from prolonged use
• Abnormal wear from poor lubrication
⚠️ Important Note: Shift drum failure can cause hard shifting, jumping out of gear, and other issues that seriously affect riding safety and experience. If you experience the symptoms above, inspect and replace the shift drum and related components promptly.
This cycle shift drum fits vehicles equipped with CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines with cycle shift configuration, including but not limited to:
💡 Compatibility Note: This shift drum is designed for cycle shift configurations in CG125 and CG150 engines. Before installation, verify that your original transmission uses cycle shift to ensure compatibility. Cycle shift and reciprocal shift drums are not interchangeable — verify carefully.

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Remove the engine from the frame.
2. Split the engine crankcase to access the transmission assembly.
3. Remove the shift pawl, detent mechanism, and shift forks.
4. Remove the old shift drum and inspect guide groove wear.
5. Clean the transmission case and inspect shift forks and detent mechanism.
6. Install the new shift drum, ensuring the guide grooves correctly engage the shift forks.
7. Install the detent mechanism and shift pawl, and check for smooth shifting action.
8. Verify accurate gear positioning and smooth shift fork movement through all gears.
9. Assemble the engine crankcase and tighten case bolts to specified torque.
10. Reinstall the engine, add fresh engine oil, and start the engine to test shifting function.
Important Note: Transmission disassembly and assembly involve precision components. Pay attention to the correct alignment between the shift drum and shift forks during installation. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model and shift pattern (cycle shift) to ensure compatibility. Cycle shift and reciprocal shift drums are not interchangeable — verify your original shift pattern carefully.
Installation Note: Transmission disassembly and assembly involve critical engine components and require specialized tools and expertise. Professional installation is strongly recommended. Pay attention to the correct alignment between the shift drum and shift forks during installation.
Recommended Parts: When replacing the shift drum, it is recommended to inspect the shift forks, detent mechanism, and shift pawl for wear, and replace them if necessary to ensure overall shift system performance. Product images are for reference only; actual product may vary.
