CG Dowel Pin
🔧 Dowel Pin · Crankcase Alignment Pin · CG125/CG150 Engine · Engine Assembly Component
For CG125 · CG150 4-Stroke Engines · Engine Case Alignment
This is the CG Dowel Pin, a critical alignment component for CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engine assembly. Specifically designed for CG series engines, this dowel pin is suitable for motorcycles, ATVs, and various other vehicles, making it the ideal choice for engine rebuilds or crankcase repairs.
Dowel pins (also known as crankcase alignment pins) are installed between the left and right crankcase halves to ensure precise alignment during assembly, maintaining the coaxiality and positional accuracy of the crankshaft, transmission, and other components. Manufactured from high-quality alloy steel with precision machining and heat treatment, this dowel pin offers excellent dimensional accuracy and wear resistance, ensuring engine assembly precision and operational reliability.
✨ Core Functions: Precisely align left and right crankcase halves · Ensure crankshaft bearing coaxiality · Guarantee transmission gear meshing accuracy · Prevent crankcase misalignment
📌 Dowel Pin Function
CG series engines use a split crankcase design. Dowel pins are installed in alignment holes on the crankcase mating surface, ensuring precise alignment of the left and right crankcase halves during assembly, maintaining coaxiality of rotating components such as the crankshaft and transmission.
📌 Importance
Though small, dowel pins are critical for engine assembly precision. Worn or damaged dowel pins can cause crankcase misalignment, leading to bearing misalignment, poor gear meshing, noise, vibration, and even severe engine failure.

💨 Common Symptoms
• Unusual engine noise (gear meshing sounds)
• Hard shifting or jumping out of gear
• Excessive engine vibration
• Premature crankshaft bearing wear
• Engine oil leaks (poor crankcase seal)
• Loose or broken crankcase bolts
🔍 Possible Causes
• Wear from prolonged use
• Damage from improper installation
• Uneven crankcase bolt torque causing abnormal pin loading
• Deformed or broken dowel pin
• Worn crankcase locating holes
⚠️ Important Note: Dowel pin failure can cause crankcase misalignment, resulting in bearing misalignment, poor gear meshing, and severe engine failure. If you experience the symptoms above, inspect and replace the dowel pins and related components promptly.
This dowel pin fits vehicles equipped with CG125 and CG150 4-stroke engines, including but not limited to:

🔧 Installation Guide
1. Remove the engine from the frame.
2. Split the left and right crankcase halves to access the dowel pins.
3. Remove the old dowel pins and inspect the locating holes for wear.
4. Clean the locating holes and crankcase mating surfaces, removing all oil and contaminants.
5. Insert the new dowel pins into the locating holes, ensuring they are fully seated.
6. Join the left and right crankcase halves, ensuring the dowel pins align with the corresponding holes.
7. Install crankcase bolts and tighten in a diagonal pattern in stages to specified torque.
8. Check the crankcase mating surface gap to ensure proper sealing.
9. Reinstall the engine, add fresh engine oil, and start the engine to test operation.
Important Note: Ensure dowel pins are fully seated in the locating holes. Tighten crankcase bolts in a diagonal pattern with even torque. Professional installation is strongly recommended.
Spec Confirmation: Before purchasing, verify your engine model to ensure compatibility.
