🔧 Installation Guide

1. Remove the cylinder head and cylinder block, then remove the piston and connecting rod assembly.
2. Remove the old piston pin circlips, push out the piston pin, and separate the piston from the connecting rod.
3. Thoroughly clean the piston ring grooves and connecting rod small end, removing all carbon deposits and contaminants.
4. Inspect the connecting rod small end bushing for wear; replace if necessary.
5. Install the new piston rings into the ring grooves, paying attention to orientation (marked side typically faces up).
6. Stagger ring gaps 120 degrees apart to prevent gas leakage through overlapping gaps.
7. Insert the piston pin through the piston and connecting rod small end, then install new circlips, ensuring they are fully seated in the grooves.
8. Before installation, apply a small amount of engine oil to the piston rings and cylinder wall for lubrication.
9. Use a ring compressor to install the piston into the cylinder, ensuring correct connecting rod orientation.
Important Note: Circlips must be fully seated in the grooves — failure to do so may cause the piston pin to dislodge, resulting in severe engine damage. Professional installation is strongly recommended.

Proper break-in after installing a new piston assembly is essential for optimal ring-to-cylinder wall seating:

• Break-In Period: Recommended 500-1000 km (300-600 miles).
• RPM Control: Avoid prolonged high RPM operation during break-in; keep RPM below 70% of maximum.
• Load Control: Avoid hard acceleration, heavy loads, and steep hill climbing during break-in.
• Oil Change: Change oil after the first 300 km (180 miles), and again after the break-in period is complete.
• Oil Quality: Use high-quality mineral oil during break-in; switch to synthetic oil after break-in.
