1. Preparation: Ensure the engine is cold. Prepare the new strainer assembly, sealing ring (if included), appropriate socket wrench, torque wrench, drain pan, and clean rags.
2. Lift the Vehicle: Safely lift the ATV/UTV or place it on level ground. Ensure adequate working space and position the drain pan underneath.
3. Drain Engine Oil (Recommended): For easier access, remove the drain plug and drain old oil into the pan. This is a good opportunity to inspect the condition of the used oil.
4. Remove Old Strainer: Locate the strainer mounting position on the oil pan (typically at the oil pump inlet). Carefully remove the retaining bolt or clip using a socket/ wrench. Remove the old strainer assembly. Wipe away any residual oil with a clean rag.
5. Inspect & Clean: Check the old strainer for damage or severe clogging. Clean the mounting hole and surrounding area with a clean rag and a small amount of oil to ensure no debris remains.
6. Install New Strainer: Align the new strainer assembly (0JWV-011011-3000) with the mounting hole. Ensure the sealing ring (if equipped) is properly seated and not twisted. Hand-thread the bolt to avoid cross-threading.
